Yoyo's Big Day

I was pretty excited and waiting so long for this day to arrive. And I was thick skinned enough to offer my services to be the 2nd shooter. Sounds pro huh..

But as this was my first time taking pictures on a big scale, I have to say I'm not well prepped cos I don't have a external flash to begin with. No flash means half of my pictures will turn out blur which they did! Oh well, I attempted to take as many as I could and I'm glad I've managed to captured some intimate moments.

A lot of pictures, happy! And I don't bother to check my grammars, too lazy.. Who cares?

I also couldn't sleep the whole night, toss & turn & keep checking the clock to see if it's time to wake up.. I'm so afraid that I might oversleep and miss the morning session!
Booked a cab & I was there at 0430hrs, even I surprised myself.. Haa..
Said a quick hi to Yoyo and I roamed around to look for subjects. A lot of details around the house so I just snapped & snapped.

Yoyo's 2 cousins were her personal assistants and I can see just how close they were..
But of course I'm close to her too, helped her to zip up her tight gown the 2nd time round.. *childish**

It helps that Yoyo is pretty to begin with so snapping her was a breeze cos I don't have to try to hard. Love capturing all her little actions & quirky moves, just cute!
When her folks put the veil over her, the feeling of contentment overwhelmed me. Mr & Mrs Eng's little girl is all grown up now! :)

This was my best angle shot of her, I love it to bits! My masterpiece!

I only managed to take picture of her engagement ring as the wedding bands were nicely tied up securely in their box. Next time perhaps!

Her train was super long and we had to be mindful not to step nor trip on it. :P

The Enggies. Her brother very cute, remembering to put on his coat for picture taking as he don't wanna look too sloppy. :P

I'm just super happy & honoured when I asked Yoyo if I could hide in the room with her while the boys were outside attempting to break the gates down. Also to keep her company lah.. Asking how she's feeling & stuff, girl talk you know.. And I want to be the one to capture Thomas's reaction when he opened the door with his goofy smile. Priceless.

The brothers & sisters are just damn sporting lah! *clap**

Mrs Eng is one Happy Mommy that day, you can just see the sparkles in her eyes..

Yoyo is very accomodating & will obliged me with whatever poses I've asked of her, so kwai.. :)

I think I kept asking & suggesting to them who I wanna take etc.. more than what the actual photographer.. Paiseh..

And a picture of Thomas & his mother-in-law is a MUST of course. Hee..

Yoyo has very nice side profile & a lot of hair, I like!

The sisters were holding on to their wooden clogs everywhere too..

My pictures turned out much better under natural lightings. Every picture turned out nice, I love the different tones of light, yeah!
Love the Beemer too!

Peaceful feel at the temple, even though I was sweating buckets. I can imagine how the groom & bride feel under their coat & gown too, hot is the word.

Even the brothers & sisters were gamed to pose for me. *shy**

Uncle T has to stand at the side while the sisters had their turn..

On the way to Four Seasons Hotel in Orchard Road, everybody's just so relieved to get in the cars & out of the heat.

They had the tea ceremony for the groom's side at the hotel suite.

Yoyo's closest cousins, and with rollers in their hair.. Lol..

One of the brothers, Don is very funny. He made the rest do lotsa stunts & poses & instructed the photographer to take more photos. Must make the $$ worth paying I guess.
I would have done the same if he asked me, he's so fierce with his tattoo welding leg.

A change of attire, a sleek cheongsam. Got the Shanghai Tang feel.

The bareback look is so sexy! Yoyo's niece is so cute!

Yoyo's side of the family are huge and everybody turned up in full force, including relatives from m'sia & perth. So nice of them.
I bet Uncle T & Yoyo were tired from all the tea offering cos so many of the elders..

Housekeeping had champagne, chocolate & strawberries for the happy couple & nobody dared to touch them. They looked soooo appetising.. *mouthwatering**

I love to take all the details cos I know a lot of time & efforts have been put in to make it happen.

Everybody in the room has a part to play that day, and I'm glad I went there earlier to catch that moment.

Feels like home? :)
I bet they've to pack up like siao when checking out time.

All ready! I felt a moment of serene when she stepped out of the room..
I dunno, i had a lot of different feelings on that day.. Just super happy that Yoyo has finally found her happiness, she so deserve it!

I looked so pale & plain next to the lovely bride but then, that's the whole idea! Haa..

More wedding details. My card gown's not opened up, not sure why?
Handmade bears from OB and they're ex.. :P

Penning down our warmest wishes for Uncle T & Yoyo..

Uncle T looking at his bride with so much love.
A better picture of Yoyo's cousin & niece from Perth.
I've cut back on photo taking cos really cannot make it indoors w/o a external flash. Well, never mind cos I also wanna enjoy eating my dinner. Hee..

And her daddy is so handsome, like a movie star! But I was too shy to ask them to pose for me.. Haa.. N mind, shall ask Yoyo for some pictures then.. *smitten**

I like the idea of the bride mingling with guests during reception. Lotsa opportunity to take pictures! Everybody's happy.

Roy drove me earlier to the hotel while he went klkk.. So sweet of him..

I like it that the sport lights are shone directly in the middle of every table & make the cutlery & display so stand out.
I was already a bit tired by the time I sit down, so I didn't move around much to take anymore photos.. Ya, I worked part-time that day only.

I asked the server for some cut chilli padi, and he came back with this bigger than the usual saucer of chilli! All of us at the table just stared at the mountain of chilli & wondering how to finish. Then Danny said so wasteful & asked me to tabao back, they ate up the chocolates & left the boxes for me to pack. Have to do it very discreetly mann.. =_=

Danny & Hara laughing away at Mathavan's joke during the yum seng session. Yup, it's funny..

Carmen was feeling bored so she came over to join us for the 2nd half.. Even though we've been in close contact but there's still so much to catch up!

And I managed to struggled over to take a shot of Yoyo in her blue gown, and she turned to smile for me. Haa, like a movie star..
Overall, it was a simple & fuss-free wedding, just the way they like it. I really enjoyed the experience tremendously with my close friends around.
Looking forward to Jacq, Lindy & Gerri's weddings in future liao.. Haa..

After our congrats, hugs & goodbyes to the happy yet tired couple, we saw this corner with nice sofas around. So I said we must take a group photo and of course I must be in it! So I asked Roy to use my baby to take.. We're not ready yet and he snapped liao..

Ok, everybody is ready. Nice shot! And we look glam..

Then I said we must take picture at the stairway, so the troop followed.. We're so noisy as usual.
Without flash so lousy..

With flash is much better but we look so white, at least can see Danny & Mat more clearly. Everybody's so happy at that point of time.

We asked Mat to move to the side cos he's blocking everybody! Haa..

This day will always be special in my heart.

A part of you

It's not easy when you know a part of you has to be removed in order for survival. But it has to be done, there's no other choice.

My sister went for the operation to remove the lump & affected lymph nodes last wednesday. During the op, the surgeon straight away noticed that the cancer has affected the breast area so on the spot had do the mastectomy. Her wound was painful & unbearable, and she had a number of painkillers that made her disorientated & nauseous.

We're on the way to visit her at Mt. Elizabeth. Nostalgia for me cos this was where I had given birth to Jared 3 years ago. So fast hor.. I've carried J in my arms last time out from the maternity ward and now, he's up & running about along the corridors.

And he only wanted to hold onto Ah ma's hands, not sure why.. But it's ok, gave me a break.

This boy very funny, he can dash around in shopping malls refusing to hold our hands but places like parks, unfamiliar places or even hospitals, he refuses to let go.. Maybe he has phobia of hospitals cos he was admitted to KK last oct due to constipation.

Sis sitting up in a crouch and taking dinner. Just pain to see her moving ever so slowly & carefully. I've asked J not to hug or touch her just in case. He can be very rough sometimes..

J is contented by roaming around the room checking things out.

All the hampers & gifts. We've to help bring some back too, cos it's be a handful for them. Help to finish up the fruits too..

And so, tissues from the lump & lymph nodes are sent for analysis and my sis meet up with the specialist today. The results were out partially cos the histologist needs more time to study the lymph node. The stage is 2B and the groth is about 5cm. The rate of growth is moderate, the commonest rate. But in order not to let the cancer cells recur, she will need chemotherapy. And maybe later on radiotherapy on the left breast. The initial process will be difficult but she will have to go through it. I know she's scared stiff about the chemo but she just have to tell herself to brave through the process in order to get well.

My peeps have been most supportive & concern for my sis and told me not to worry too much. We take one step at a time, no point worrying about tomorrow when today has enough worries of it's own - quote from bible. Thanks babe!

Devastated Feeling

I really wish at this very moment, that it's just a nightmare and when
I wake up, everything is back to normal.. but it's not the case.. :(

Sometimes, even though it's my blog, I've opened to the public so certain
things I still have to hold back a little. But with my sister's permission,
"Why not, it's a fact anyway.."
I shall say what's been choking at the back of my throat.

My little sister has breast cancer.

Fighting back tears now. No words can describe exactly how I've been feeling
for the past 5 days since I heard the dreaded news.

She first told me last week that she felt a lump on her left breast. She
thought nothing of it, thinking it's those normal lumpy nodules that will
disappear after each menses circle. I said don't joke about it and get it
checked. Appointment with a specialist at Mt. E was fixed on monday, 13th June
to check on the lump.

That evening after the checkup, sis & brother-in-law came over for
dinner and I asked to feel the lump. Mmm, it's kinda hard. So I said, hopefully
it's nothing serious, and asked her to update me once the results' out on wednesday.

Her followup appointment was on wed morning at 8.30 so I was expecting a call
from her when I was in office. Waited for some time.. She might be busy or
might have forgotten to call me.

At around 9.30am, my handphone rang and it's from home. Might be mom asking
what med to give J as he's recovering from fever a few days ago. I barked
a hello, only to hear loud sobbings from the other end. I couldn't even hear
what she's trying to tell me. But in my heart, I don't want to hear what's
coming. "Lisa has cancer..." She was wailing away..

I put down the phone, in a daze. Lily was calling me but I didn't hear anything.
"What's wrong, Ros?"
"My sis's results are out, she.. she has cancer.. sniff.."
Lily stared back at me in shock. I couldn't help crying, tears flowed down
uncontrollably. Everybody was concerned what happened.. Boss asked if I
need to leave.. But if I go & see my sis now, everybody will just be crying away.
I still have work to do, and everything still goes on..

I broke the news to Roy too. I think he can understand better than me cos of
his late mother. I waited for my sis to call me.

"You on your way home now?"
"Ya, doctor detected a 2.7cm lump in my left breast & 2 lymph nodes are swollen.
Will need to go back hospital tomorrow for the pet scans, to determine which stage
& whether it spread to other organs or not. The results will be out on friday."
"Ok, how is Dennis"
"He's ok for now, I guess"
"Don't worry, we see how the scan goes first.."
"I guess it's a good thing I don't have kids yet.."
"Who say so? Jared is also like a son to you."
"I'm afraid I might not be there when he goes primary one.."
"OF COURSE you'll be there! Don't be silly!!" I'm fighting back tears as hard
as I could.
"I'm reaching home liao. Will update you again."
"Ok, you take it easy first. Hope the scan goes well & we wait for the
results on fri then."

Everybody in office was mindful not to ask any more questions in case I bring
another round of tears. I just have so many questions in my mind.. "What happened?
What causes it? Is she too tired? Did she eat something wrong?"
I was just telling my cols.. When you heard from someone you know or through a
friend that someone has cancer, you showed your sympathy & said please take care.
But when it happened to a loved one, your world suddenly came crashing down &
you just don't know what to do next. I refuse to accept it!
Blood rushed up to my head. My head was spinning. I just wanna get home asap.

Scans for my sis on thursday took around 2 hours. Normally, if the spread
was extensive, the scan will take up to 4 hours to be more precise. Dennis
was waiting in the cafe watching the clock ticking by the min. I can't
imagine the anxiety that he's having at that moment.

Everybody in the family can't sleep well. All waiting yet dreaded the friday
results. Sis said she is just waiting for time, waiting for the sentence. She's so
frightened that she feels like throwing up all the time. Nobody will understand
the fear & anguish deep down inside her. I just feel so god damn helpless. I wish
I can share some of her agony. My heart just feel so aching.. heartpain..

Results showed that the cancer did not spread to other organs so what's important
now is a surgery is required asap to take out the lump & infected lymph nodes.
The left breast will have to go, to be safe. After which, chemotherapy will take
place to kill off the bad cells. Of course the good cells will be affected too & her
immune system will be so low that if we don't take care, infections will set in.

The fatigue has taken it's toil and now sis & Dennis are down with flu & sore throat.
Must wait until she's recovered or get slightly better before she can be ready for
the operation.

My heart still beats a little faster every time I think about it. Somebody help me
to forget please.. :(

Happy Feeling

Things happened for the past few days that were hard to put in words.. But first of all, Roy & I had attended the much awaited wedding of Wanyu (aka Yoyo) & Thomas last sunday. It's a experience that I'll never forget. Thanks Yoyo, for letting me join in your celebration and share your joy with you.

Waking up in the wee hours on a sunday morning was no easy feat, I'm surprised that I can even make it at all! I'm one of the helpers behind the scene and also the 2nd shooter.
Will try to organise the photos soon. Maybe put some in FB.

Really have a lot of stuff at hand to settle.

Duan Wu Jie (Rice Dumpling Festival)

The festival was on 6th Jun but we had a gathering at boss SHock's place last fri, 3th Jun.. Main reason of course is mahjong, hahaha!

We reached his place on time but the host's busy at joo chiat kim choo getting bak zhangs for us and will be running a bit late. We getting impatient and hungry, lol..

All 15 bak zhangs cost a freaking $70 over bucks! Goodness! Rip off! We can go eat a sumptuous cze cha downstairs mann!
But luckily kim choo nonya dumplings still the best!

And of course eating bak zhang must go with the traditional chinese tea. And SHock wipped out his tea set from inside his cupboard. :D

All the dumplings were steamed for 15mins and piping hot! OB cannot tahan so he offered to open them up for us.

While SHock's overseeing Roy with his tea pouring.. Becoming more like a teacher liao.. got the "sey"!.
Roy so nervous that he spilled some water, lol!

SHock eventually took over and patiently explained to us the meaning and purpose of tea appreciation. Daniel carried on eating with his mouth stuffed with the dumplings.

We started 1st round of MJ while SHock & Leng relaxed and waiting for Jacq & Lindy to arrive.
I gathered them for a group photo.

Instead of the usual funny faces, we decided to do the "look far into the distance" look. Haha!

OB's face was so black during the 1st cos I won all their $ but I lost during the 2nd round & he emerged the overall winner, so he's happier and can smile already. Haa!

The poor host has to get us dinner & also washing up the dirty dishes too.. And we still complained that the lightings in his house are not working properly.. Haa..!
Our dear boss SHock, you're the best!!!

Videos of J&J

I've uploaded some videos on youtube recently including JZ singing Happy Birthday song to me! Awww, that's cute! Wondering when will J be able to sing to me mann? I just have to be contented that at least he can dance to the song.. :P

Shimei made JZ sing and recorded down to show me. His birthday song version is just so cute.. :)

J's now able to mimic the dance steps that's shown on TV, I think his interest is really into music and dancing. Goodness, what about books? =_=

He wants to pay for the groceries.. Good, next time whenever I'm too lazy I'll just send him to get then.. Lol..

New baby

No, it's not a real baby lah.. It's my new toy!

Sorry peeps, no new updates since the birthday celebrations cos nothing interesting is happening. My life is so boring!

It's a known fact that Carl Zeiss is a leader in the field of manufacturing lenses for amateur and professional photography and they are expensive too!

Not say my skills are very pro or what but to be able to own one of these babies is like a dream come true! Never expect it! I shall treat it with TLC.. Haaa!
Love you lots too, hugz!

Brought my babies out for a evening stroll. Mum gave J a haircut the other day, and I combed it neatly for a photo. Smart right? :)

At least I don't have to carry both of them nowadays, just that both my hands are busy with them. Hard to get a clear shot of Jared as he's walking so fast! Also I didn't have time to set the settings too.. Oh well..

He's so excited to see 7-eleven. He's fascinated with colourful logos.

We have the same cheeks right? Confirm J's my son, ahahahaaa!
Wish I can be as fair as him though..

This is our resident cat. Always lazing around our block. Everybody knows her, she's a big fat tabby cat.
